A Place to learn
Varsity Lakes was always going to become a place where residents could live, learn and play without leaving the community.
By the end of 1999, when Varsity Lakes’ masterplanning was undertaken, Bond University had been operating for more than 10 years and had acquired a student base nearing 2,000, of whom approximately 50 per cent were from overseas. It had also started to develop a reputation for excellence.
During the master planning phase, two sites within Varsity Lakes had been set aside for a primary and secondary school, one on either side of the lake. The Varsity Lakes development team approached Education Queensland with an innovative idea for the design of the middle and senior school campus of Varsity College.
