Great news for local residents
with an agreement finalised this week for the M1 upgrade to 6 lanes from Mudgeeraba to Varsity Lakes. The agreement is the final step in delivering the $110 million I secured during the election campaign for this vital project. I was pleased to yesterday join with Urban Infrastructure Minister Paul Fletcher to discuss the work that will commence by mid-year.
While work on this important section of the M1 is crucial, I will continue to push for the further upgrade from Varsity to Tugun.
It’s heartening that funding has also been provided for planning of this further upgrade in the recent announcement, and also for fixing the M1 bottleneck at the Gateway merge – which I know also affects locals traveling to and from Brisbane.
Rest assured that improving local roads, and especially the M1, remains a top priority for me.
As always, if there's a specific issue you'd like to bring to my attention, please feel free to send me an email or text me via my new dedicated constituent textline: 0417 810 139.
